Who we are

ChaloCity lists events happening in Montreal on a map. The person responsible for protecting personal information is the site's owner, reachable through mayankgupta.dev or the contact page.

What we collect

• Browsing without an account: nothing that identifies you, unless you accept cookies (see below). Your theme, language and cookie choice are saved in your browser only.
• Account (optional): your email or phone number to sign in, plus the profile details you choose to give — display name, neighbourhood or home location, favourite categories, distance and language — and the events you save. These are stored with our database provider, Supabase.
• Location: the "locate me" map button uses your device location in your browser only; it is not sent to us. A home location is stored only if you add it to your profile.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show ads on some pages (never on the map). These Google services may use cookies and similar technologies, including to personalize ads. Until you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, they run in a restricted mode without advertising or analytics cookies. You can change your choice anytime by clearing this site's data in your browser. Error monitoring

We use Sentry to find and fix bugs. When something breaks, it receives technical details — the error, the page, your browser and device type — but not your name or email. If you accepted cookies, it may also include a short replay of the moments before the error, with all text, form inputs and images masked. If you use "Report a problem", it receives what you write (and a screenshot if you add one).

Ticket links

Event details come from Ticketmaster, Fever and Eventbrite. "Tickets" links take you to the seller's site, which has its own privacy policy. Some links are affiliate links: we may earn a commission on purchases, at no extra cost to you.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, at any time through the contact page. We don't sell your personal information.

We'll update this page if our practices change, with a new date at the top.
